Everyone should have this app!
Im a career Firefighter/EMT. We recently had a patient who was 4-wheeling and had an accident. They were unable to give us their exact location. Once we found them we called for an air rescue helicopter. We had two rescue personnel who had GPS apps on their smartphones, but we had trouble with both displaying the current lat/long. We had a bystander show up who also had a smartphone GPS app, but they had never used it. When we finally got to the Lat/long display the tiny font was almost impossible to read in the bright sunshine. This all happened as the helicopter was flying overhead asking for our exact location. We finally did get the lat/long to the pilot and the patient was flown out; however, it really demonstrated the need for a simple easy to read app. Im recommending this app to everyone I know. Whether my wife has a flat on the freeway and doesnt know her exact location, or the kids are biking on a trail and get hurt, help will know their location. FYI-- lat/long in decimal format can be entered directly in Google Maps, with a comma between the two. It will then show the location on a map and route you to it. I cant recommended this app enough as it greatly facilitates Fire/Police/EMS personnel or even family members to come to your assistance.
Great
I love this app! I never have to fear being lost again. Highly recommend.
Not perfect
My emailed lat/long coordinates in the city of Houston read as follows (truncated minutes and seconds for privacy): "My Location is: Latitude 29 degrees... west. Longitude -95 degrees... north. Altitude 78 Feet" The "north"and "west" designations are switched. It would be most helpful if the email would include a clickable link that would open an exact location in maps.
